What is this?
Diya means lamp of light. We decorate a clay diya — a small oil lamp — to welcome God, celebrate festivals, and remind us to spread light wherever we go.
🎨 How to make it
- Take a plain clay diya and let it dry completely.
- Choose bright colours — yellow, red, orange and green.
- Paint the inside of the diya bright yellow (like a flame).
- Paint the outside with colourful dots and flowers using a thin brush.
- Let it dry for 20 minutes.
- Add glitter or small mirror pieces if you like!
- Place a cotton wick inside and fill with a little mustard oil.
