The Game of Dice
Mahabharat
The Game of Dice illustration
How a single dishonest game changed the fate of the Pandavas and led to the great war.

The Kauravas, jealous of their cousins the Pandavas, invited them to a friendly game of dice. But the dice were loaded, and Shakuni — the master player — was on the side of the Kauravas.

Yudhishthir, the eldest Pandava, could not stop playing. He lost his wealth, his kingdom, his brothers, and finally even his wife Draupadi. The court watched in shame as Draupadi was dragged in. But when Dushasan tried to disrobe her, she prayed to Krishna — and her sari became endless, no matter how much was pulled.

The Pandavas were sent into exile for thirteen years. And the great war of Kurukshetra was set in motion that day.
